Position Summary: The analytical chemist will direct projects and lab duties to achieve goals of R&D department. Projects typically involve development and validation of analytical methods for new types of herbal medicines, data interpretation and other potential tasks. This is a full-time position, predominantly in a laboratory environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Apply technical expertise to research and test potential methods for analysis of herbal and natural compounds (method development and validation), analyses data, define process and equipment requirements, develop success criteria and specifications. • Assemble, use, clean and maintain laboratory equipment. • Maintain clear and detailed experiment notes and prepare clear and concise project summaries. • Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish company goals.

Requirements

Education: • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in analytical chemistry from a reputable university. Qualification: • Familiarity with the application of common analytical instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, GC/MS, IR, UV-Vis, etc.) in characterization of drug, essential oil, and herbal extracts, chemical, reactions products and byproducts. • At least 3-5 years relevant experience in an industrial or academic laboratory setting especially pharmaceutical industries. • Experience with herbal medicines and compounds. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Computer literacy including ability to use software to prepare and revise reports and documents, analyze and present data and model chemical concepts. • Ability to work with pharmacopeia (USP, BP, Ph. Eur.), standard methods. • Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience. • Respond positively and effectively to change rapidly priorities and departmental needs. Language requirement • Good command of English language preferably has high score in English language tests: TOEFL, IELTS, TOLIMO or MCHE.
