Job Description

The objective of the role:

The project engineer is a member of the safety systems, including F&G (Fire and Gas Systems) Technical/Bid/Project Department, responsible for assisting in preparing technical/financial proposals for bids, advancing and controlling project activities, and producing technical documents, under the direction and supervision of the related manager.

List of Responsibilities:

  • Assist project manager in designing and proposing technical solutions for tenders and inquiries.
  • Assist project manager in sourcing and establishing effective partnerships with vendors and manufacturers to collect information needed for technical and financial proposals.
  • Attend client meetings and assist with the determination of project requirements to the project manager.
  • Assist project manager in preparing project budgets, cash flows, preliminary schedules, invoices, archiving project documents, etc.
  • Produce technical documents, i.e., detailed designs, drawings, reports, tests, installation procedures, etc.
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by the procurement department.
  • Assist members of the procurement department in the inspection of procured equipment, if needed.
  • Handle delivery of project goods to clients.
  • Assist project manager in monitoring project progress.
  • Update project status and keep the project manager informed about the status.
  • Attend site meetings to handle site technical issues, if applicable.

 

  • Reporting to: Safety (F&G) Project Manager.
  • Probation period: 3 Months.
  • Working hours: Saturday to Tuesday from 8 AM to 5 PM; Wednesday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
  • Travel requirements: Occasional travel within the country.
  • Commission, bonus, and benefits: breakfast, lunch, supplementary insurance, seasonal gift bin, and bonus.

Requirements

University Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, including Instrumentation and Control System Engineering (preferred), Electronic Engineering (preferred), Power System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanics Engineering.
  • (Graduates of top governmental universities, such as Tehran University, Sharif University, AmirKabir University, Shahid Beheshti University, etc. are given priority).

Nature and Length of Previous Experience:

  • At least 3 years of related experience as project specialist, project expert, project coordinator, project assistant, or F&G and instrument tenders engineer.
  • Fresh graduates with high GPAs from top governmental universities without work experience.

Specialist Knowledge:

  • Familiar with project concepts and processes (familiarity with EPC Industrial Safety or Telecommunication or Electronics projects is a plus).
  • Familiar with planning/scheduling in an EPC environment.
  • Familiar with safety systems, including F&G and instrument systems, is a plus.
  • Familiar with the procurement process.
  • Experience in the bidding process is a plus.
  • Experience in producing F&G and instrument systems technical documents is a plus.
  • Proficiency in international correspondence to communicate with foreign manufacturers/vendors.
  • Capable of formal correspondence.
  • Strong and effective communication skills including verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to handle meetings with customers.
  • Ability to use proper judgment to reprioritize work for urgent matters with multiple ongoing activities and responsibilities.
  • Familiar with PMBOK standards, especially time and cost management, is a plus.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Computer skills: MS Office (esp. Word, Excel, Outlook).
