To be responsible for the execution of the category strategies and development of sourcing plans within the geographic region.
To ensure the category sourcing and contracts and meet the business requirements through the execution of the strategic sourcing process.
To apply policies, standards, and platforms including the agreed sourcing management methodology and approach and to deliver robust terms and conditions that manage service delivery and commercial risk.
To ensure contingency sources are in place.
To drive and facilitate “source to contract” for specific categories. This includes the resolution of any contracts-related issues and may include one-off spend items
To ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) have been agreed upon with the relevant business owner.
To manage negotiation and supplier selection within the framework of the category strategies and sourcing strategies.
To capture and report on compliance using the agreed compliance platform and escalate through procurement account management.
To provide forecasts on prices and market changes as input into planning where appropriate.
To provide information on negotiation results (all specs/grades, clear duration, validity for orders or deliveries) in a timely manner to the Category Manager where appropriate.
To manage the customer relationship and all aspects of procurement-related customer service for the end market.
To understand customer/business unit requirements including their business goals, targets, initiatives, directions, and supplier performance requirements for the end market.
To manage the local customer relationship for those categories being managed by commercial and operational functions of the business, shaping demand and compliance where appropriate.
To build a solid preferred supplier base and maintain up-to-date rate cards, leveraging the spend base at the above market level.
To collate procurement requirements of all end market business units and provide required information to ensure robust planning, budget, and target-setting.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge of the supply market, supplier capabilities, and competitor activity, and expected trends at a local/geographic level.
Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
Experience in the development of risk management plans for high-risk categories.
Supplier and contract management experience.
Detailed understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
Understanding of the processes, timelines, and constraints for the development and
delivery of new products.
Experience in managing large-scale, cross-country projects and programming to improve performance and delivery service.
Professional knowledge of procurement principles, including high-order negotiation skills.
Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and legislation to ensure the creation of effective group contracts.
Experience in sourcing at a local/above market level for 2 years minimum.
Understands the dynamics of sourcing management at a geographic level

Proven negotiation skills and influencing skills: able to influence business partners and suppliers as well as the ability to be assertive if required to ensure compliance to contract.
