Job Description

This vacancy varies from junior to expert positions. CAPE is searching for Geologist for its in-house upstream department and for projects and jobs with clients in their offices. Detailed knowledge and / or experience of the following: • Review the team database and propose improvements through further acquisition, reprocessing or special geological/geophysical/petrophysical studies. • Combine a basic to intermediate understanding of earth sciences with knowledge of logging technologies to determine reservoir architecture and compartmentalization and lithology or facies distribution, 3D seismic interpretation and to estimate the volume of hydrocarbon in place. • Provide key geological input and interpret structural geological information to create geocellular model, geomechanical and discrete fracture network models for the support of a wide range of projects including static & geomechanical modeling, rock fragmentation problems, unconventional gas exploitation and fractured reservoir modeling; • Demonstrate critical analytical and reporting skills. • Familiar with carbonate reservoirs in Iran • Demonstrated academic coursework or experience in applications of several of the following: structural geology, subsurface fluid flow, fracture flow, geostatistics and geomechanics/rock mechanics to engineering problems; • Familiarity with diverse Geology software: DFN modeling, RMS, Petrel • Familiar with the formulation and implementation of work plans to address geological uncertainty and mature leads and prospects through the risk analysis process • Ability to write well organized reports and Project Plans • Supervision and Quality control of drilling operation, Regional geology, sedimentary basin, Structural geology studies/fracture characterization, Fault analysis, Core and cutting description and petrography, Thin section description, Sequence stratigraphical studies, Diagenesis study and interpretation of facies / microfacies, Combine stratigraphy and sedimentology for full depositional, 3D geological modeling • Geo-modeling, property mapping in Petrel, RMS • Fracture characterization and seismic attribute • Ant Tracking/DFN concepts

Requirements

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required: • Minimum of a degree in Geology or relevant Engineering degree • At least 5 years industry experience working as a Geologist • An ability to deal with complex issues, and incomplete data, both systematically and creatively • Effective team player but also capable of working independently • Ability to lead a small team to maximize the capabilities of the team members • Resourceful and highly motivated • Ability to work within tight time-frame • Self direction and originality in tackling and solving problems • Initiative, personal responsibility and decision making skills
