Job Description

Mining Exploration Manager responsible for leading geological teams in prospecting and exploration projects, strategic planning, and direct supervision of field operations. This role entails managing and ensuring the quality of geological data, performing technical interpretations, and guaranteeing the accuracy of field operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and coordinate geological teams across all prospecting and exploration projects.
  • Field Operations: Direct supervision of structural and geological field mapping and data collection.
  • Prospecting & Identification: Identify and track mineralization zones and exploration anomalies.
  • Sampling Management: Design and oversee rigorous sampling protocols for rock, soil, and stream sediments.
  • QA/QC Implementation: Enforce strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for sampling, coding, database entry, and laboratory submission processes.
  • Operational Oversight: Direct oversight of trenching, drilling campaigns, and secondary exploration activities.
  • Data Management: Manage field data collection, maintain geological logs, and produce technical maps and documentation.
  • Technical Analysis: Interpret mineralization trends and geochemical anomalies to define exploration targets.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and milestone progress reports; maintain seamless coordination with headquarters through precise technical briefings.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of site personnel and operational contractors.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with safety, operational, and technical standards in all field activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: MSc or PhD in Geology.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven management experience in metallic and non-metallic mineral exploration projects.

Technical Proficiency:

  • In-depth knowledge of mineral deposit models and mineralization systems.
  • Expertise in prospecting principles and exploration methodologies.
  • Practical experience in sampling design and network layout.
  • Ability to interpret alteration zones and mineralization indicators.
  • Proficiency in geochemical data analysis and anomaly mapping.
  • Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
