Job Description

The main purpose of the job: Planning, coordinating, and monitoring all logistics-related activities in the project or capital and providing support to medical assistance activities, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project Responsibilities: ● Assisting the Project Coordinator or Logistics Coordinator in the definition and follow-up of logistics activities in the project or capital, in conjunction with other medical project managers in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the targeted population Ensuring and monitoring the implementation of logistics/technical activities in the project/capital including the following: ● Logistics: (construction, transport of goods and staff, communications, water, and sanitation, vehicles and engines, equipment/installation and infrastructures, communications, installation and maintenance of functional office space(s) and lodging facilities for international staff inadequate living conditions). ● WHS: implementation of water, health, and sanitation activities. ● Supply: implementation and maintenance of an appropriate supply chain for the project. ● Implement all administrative related activities linked to logistics (orders, insurances, vehicle contracts, etc.). ● Participate in the planning and implementation, together with the Logistics Coordinator, the Project Coordinator, and the HR Coordinator, the HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, and detection of potential, development, and communication) of the logistics staff in the project/capital in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all logistics activities. ● Ensure technical reference for all logistics/technical issues in the project and provide coaching to logistics staff under his/her responsibility. ● Define and monitor technical aspects of the project risk reduction policy, transport, communication, protection, identification and preparation of the technical aspects of the project security policy and guidelines, evacuation plan and contingency plan, performing day-to-day monitoring of the application of security rules and reporting to the Project Coordinator any problem that may arise. For this purpose, the Project Logistics Manager will have to create an appropriate environment to facilitate the secure exchange of information. ● Participate in monthly reports according to guidelines. ● Monitor activities through specific tools (log dashboard, supply follow up tools, cold chain follow up tools…) and provide them to upper management in a timely manner ● Manage and monitor the budget of the logistics division carefully and share the update with Finance section regularly. ● Ensure that premises installation match with safety norms, especially for electrical installations and equipment, access to premises and floors, pests control, earthquake safety equipment, fire control, and evacuation plan linked to it. Train team on the use of fire extinguishers and evacuation plans. ● Ensure that all movements (transport of patients, supply, medical items) are fulfilled in a timely manner, either by MSF vehicles or taxis. ● Communicate in an efficient way and on a regular basis with the Project Coordinator, Project Medical Referent, and logistics team at coordination, to give feedback on activities and challenges and get support accordingly. ● Respect and enforce confidentiality. ● Workplace: Mashhad. ● Starting date: January 2022 (After the approval of BAFIA). ● Contract: Full-time, fixed-term contract starting with 6 months, renewable.

Requirements

● Essential secondary education and technical diploma or technical university degree, preferably in engineering. ● At least two years of working experience in logistics-related activities. Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs, and working experience in developing countries. ● Fluent in English and Farsi essential. ● Fluent in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Internet), advanced computer knowledge is preferred. Availability, after a certain period in the position we may need the person to be able to do detachments in MSF other projects in Iran and outside of it. ● Teamwork and cooperation.
