Job Description
The job holder is accountable for all legal activities in the country, including business partnering, local compliance, litigation, general legal services (contracts, Intellectual Property/patents, labor, regulatory, product safety, promotion, approvals (products/manufacturing), co-operations (commercial/strategic) and external legal advisor contacts. He/she thereby protects the assets and reputation of Bayer and ensures compliance with all applicable local country laws and regulations. The main responsibilities of this role are: • Provide legal advice and counsel to all Bayer's operational areas in the country. • Support the overall legal and Corporate Compliance of Bayer in the country. • Identify and address issues of legal risk and compliance risks to Bayer in the country • Prepare contracts, letters and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, promotional, regulatory, financial and other operational matters to protect the company assets and the overall organization's legal and business interests. • Report (and interpret/enforce) court or government authority/agency decisions, statutes and governmental regulations and advise management on pending developments in these areas • Interact/negotiate with the legal representatives of customers, trade associations government authorities/agencies, including law-enforcement agencies • Provide support and advice in matters related to labour laws, industrial relations, employments contracts and conditions of employment This position directly reports to Finance & Administration Head of Bayer Parsian
Requirements
Education: • University degree or equivalent from an accredited law school • Ideally a certified lawyer • English language must be fluent in spoken and written Skills/Experiences: • A minimum of 5 years of legal experience gained from progressively responsible positions • Strength in planning, organization and management with a track record in handling multiple projects and cases. • Strong analytical skills to assess risk involvement, extent of legal liability, financial impact and long term effects of own decisions on the Bayer business • Team-oriented leadership skills honed through experience with senior management • Developed communication skills • Communications strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with internal management & staff • Experience with work in complex organizational set-ups
