Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payment to suppliers, monitoring and controlling purchase orders, goods receipts, stock and supplier invoicing. You will also maintain staff records and prepare monthly reporting for financial month end close and compile revenue information during the budgeting process. You will also provide overall supervision and control of all accounting matters related to the station. Specific accountabilities include: • Working with Business partners to prepare and pass accruals to ensure accurate financial accounting • Assisting with the preparation of monthly cost centre and general ledger schedules with meaningful remarks and commentary • Preparing and monitoring monthly bank reconciliations and preparing accounts payable aging report and ensuring all supplier invoices are processed and accounted for accurately • Preparing budget submission files and inputting data into Quantum • Assisting in the production of COSR and other forecast files for Commercial Management review • Ensuring VAT returns are completed and maintained correctly and ensuring payroll taxes are paid in line with deadlines and that P11Ds are submitted
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will preferably have a Bachelors Degree from a reputed university combined with a chartered/professional accounting certification. Four years of experience in a similar role is required ideally with two of those years in an accounting role within the airline/aviation sectors. User level experience with an ERP is required along with strong spreadsheet and financial analysis and reporting skills. Strong expenditure or revenue accounting experience is preferred you will also need knowledge of contracts management and of local laws and regulations pertaining to VAT, Tax and Payroll.
