Field Application Engineer LED & UV/IR

Job Description

General: The role of this application engineer is to provide technical support and resolve the application issues faced by customers for accelerating design wins, as well as to collect the technical inputs for improving and developing new LED solutions. This person will work with Marketing and Sales to promote the LED applications in the illumination market. This person will need to proactively work with customers to develop new applications using Osram LED modules. Main Responsibilities: • Fully understand the characteristics and the measurement techniques of LED products. Instruct the customers to design these products in their applications. Analyze and resolve the technical issues in customer’s applications. • Develop technical documentation including design guidelines, application notes and design tools. • Develop new applications with LED products. Design and build new application demonstrations for trade shows and customer meetings. • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to launch new LED products and promote their applications in illumination market. Provide technical training and demonstrational tools to Sales and customers. • Work closely with Marketing to understand the leading edge of LED applications, identify and evaluate new fields for applying LED technologies, create product specifications based on customer application requirements. • Effectively communicate the technical challenges of customer applications to LS team, work closely with LS to develop the solutions and meet the customer requirements.
