Position Overview:

Green Energy Partners is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) to support the CEO in driving the company’s strategic growth in the renewable energy sector. As a family-owned business with a strong legacy in Solar PV and Independent Power Production, we are looking for a leader who can help scale operations, strengthen market presence, and ensure the efficient execution of business strategies.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, the Deputy CEO will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, enhancing profitability, and identifying new business opportunities, particularly in the private sector. This role demands a structured, analytical leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong industry knowledge.
The ideal candidate will have experience selling high-value energy solutions and managing business development efforts, with a proven track record of driving growth and operational excellence. They will be responsible for leading key business functions, supporting cross-functional teams, and helping cultivate a high-performance culture. This is a high-impact role for a progressive, agile, and solution-oriented leader with ambitions to shape the future of sustainable energy in Iran and the broader region.

Overall Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Market Growth:

  • Support the CEO in developing and implementing a comprehensive growth strategy to expand market share, increase profitability, and strengthen the company’s competitive position in Iran and across key markets.
  • Identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities in renewable energy, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive innovation in solar energy, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the energy transition.
  • Ensure the business remains agile, progressive, and adaptable, responding effectively to market shifts and industry trends.
  • Lead the company’s entry into new private-sector markets, ensuring a strong focus on solution-based sales.
  • Oversee strategic business development initiatives, ensuring a structured and logical approach to expansion and profitability.
  • Contribute to strengthening GEP’s brand positioning in the market, reinforcing its status as a trusted Independent Power Producer (IPP).

Commercial and Business Development:

  • Support the CEO in developing and executing a focused business development strategy aimed at securing long-term, high-value private sector contracts.
  • Leverage personal and company networks to cultivate strong commercial partnerships that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
  • Oversee the execution of solution-based selling and contract negotiation processes, ensuring offerings are tailored to client needs while aligned with profitability and strategic objectives.

Operational Excellence and Organisational Leadership

  • Oversee and optimise operational efficiencies, ensuring seamless execution of projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • Drive process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
  • Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Establish a structured and logical approach to operational decision-making, aligning with long-term business objectives.

Financial and Stakeholder Management:

  • Develop and manage the company’s financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability and profitability.
  • Secure investment and financing for large-scale renewable energy projects, engaging with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, ensuring alignment with national energy policies.
  • Represent Green Energy Partners at industry forums, conferences, and high-level stakeholder engagements, positioning the company as a thought leader in renewable energy.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide supportive and effective leadership alongside the CEO, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and develop senior leaders across key functions, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and readiness to execute strategic priorities.
  • Promote a collaborative, solution-oriented environment that empowers teams to take initiative and drive results.
  • Reinforce a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, ensuring all teams remain focused on business objectives and market demands.
  • Support talent development and employee engagement initiatives to help attract, retain, and grow top industry talent.

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, or a related field is required, with postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or equivalent being advantageous.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or power generation sectors, with a strong track record in business expansion and commercial success.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans, expanding market share and securing high-value contracts within the private sector.
  • Demonstrable success in leading and scaling high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Strong business acumen, with a focus on delivering financial performance, investment growth, and sustainable profitability.
  • Deep expertise in solution selling and commercial deal structuring, with a focus on engaging with private-sector clients and negotiating complex energy contracts.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to engage and build relationships with investors, policymakers, regulators, and key industry partners.
  • A structured, logical, and entrepreneurial approach to leadership, with the ability to operate in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies such as solar PV, energy storage, and power trading models.
  • Extensive industry networks and established relationships within the energy, investment, and corporate sectors, ensuring access to key decision-makers.
  • Commitment to sustainability and ESG principles, ensuring alignment with global best practices in environmental stewardship and corporate governance.
  • Fluent in English – business communication.
