Based in Tehran, Telecomiran is a private company that has been officially awarded with the license of offering IPTV services in Iran, the first pay-TV platform in the country. TIB is currently in the process of implementation its operations and is expecting to launch the first IPTV service in Iran in the next few months. The IPTV service, once launched, would allow customers to watch broadcast TV channels, subscriber to on-demand services (ability to order videos, music, games, and subscribe to other specialized channels), and take advantage of other value added services such as Time-shifting, catch-up TV, PVR, Electronic Program Guide (EPG), TV shopping, banking, movie schedules etc. Given the success of IPTV services in international markets, TIB is going through an exciting time and is building a team that will be instrumental in launching IPTV services in the country.
