Tehran Psychoanalytic Institute (TPI) was founded by Tooraj Moradi, PhD1, a US-trained psychoanalyst, in March 2007 to provide training and treatment in the field of psychoanalysis. TPI has been accredited by the European Confederation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapies (ECPP) as an Accredited Psychoanalytic Training Institute (APTI). The Institute has been registered as a non-commercial institution and has been licensed by the State Welfare Organization for the purpose of education and treatment in the area of psychoanalysis.
The TPI Core Training Programs uphold and follow the standards of training, ethics and practice of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). TPI is a member of international associations of IFPS2, ECPP, and WCP3and has signed the Agreement to Abide by the Code of Ethics of ECPP.
The Institute offers psychoanalytic training to mental health students and clinicians in fields such as Psychology, Psychiatry, and Counseling. Since its foundation, the Institute has offered eight courses of Comprehensive Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and three courses of Introduction to Psychoanalytic Approach thus far. The Core Training in Psychoanalysis will start in the very near future.
Further, Child and Adolescent Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is in the process of being designed to be implanted in near future.
The Institute’s Faculty Members and Instructors represent all of the major schools and trends in psychoanalysis today, and offer a broad-based and in-depth curriculum in psychoanalysis as a theory of the mind, as a method of treatment and as a research tool.
In addition, a rich availability of Honorary Faculty with international fame is afforded to ensure an unmatched level of excellence and comprehensiveness in the training programs.
