Kansar Khazar Company (KKC) was founded in 2004 in order to explore the brine water from deep wells, then extract and purify its iodine in some south-east region of Caspian Sea. Upon proving iodine content of the brine water through drilling of appraisal wells within the mining territory, drilling of the development wells and construction of the downstream facilities including processing plants within Incheh mining site in Golestan province were initiated and came to operation in 2008. In 2018, 2nd Phase of Incheh mining development including its downstream processing facilities was completed and officially inaugurated. Iodine product of our facilities is widely marketed domestically and internationally among pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical plants. Now, KKC, in addition to supply the local demand, exports successfully its product to European and Asian countries. Due to serious shortage of the iodine resources in the world, only eight countries are producing this strategic product. As a consequence of our development facilities, Islamic Republic of Iran is ranked as 5th of the world in the field of Iodine production. KKC has successfully established a quality management system through implementing international standards of ISO 9001, ISO 14001; 2015 and OHSAS 18001; 2007 and GMP.
