Job Description

  • Develop public and media relations strategies to highlight the company's mission, vision, and values for external and internal audiences and seek high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media to increase company visibility.
  • Develop communications plans and content including press releases, fact sheets, message points, features, and social media posts.
  • Identify and share stories of interest that align with the company's mission, audiences, and strategic campaign goals.
  • Build connections with media and key journalists through a mix of channels, from traditional to digital and social.
  • Craft professional and empathetic responses to address customer concerns and issues raised in reviews.
  • Serve as the company's spokesperson and ambassador with the news media and other external audiences as needed.
  • Plan and manage special events, including (but not limited to) press conferences and photo opportunities.
  • Coordinate interviews between media and the company's leadership team.
  • Create and execute media preparedness training for company leaders who need to interface with external audiences.
  • On an ongoing basis, meet with key leaders to identify issues and opportunities to position the company in the media.
  • Monitor online review platforms regularly for any negative feedback or spam reviews.
  • Manage the organization's LinkedIn account.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors as needed.
  • Ensure that all communication is cohesive with the company's brand image.
  • Serve as an informed associate to help build relationships with customers, vendors, partners, consumers, etc.
  • Engage with the marketing department to ensure that PR campaigns are aligned with all company strategic goals and relevant plans for growth and new business opportunities.
  • Pitch new ideas, and amplify content and social concepts to propel brand awareness while representing the brand voice, and staying consistent with current trends and media opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • +4 years of experience in public relations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience communicating with internal and external audiences and members of the media.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems, and make recommendations.
  • Collaborative and driven to share ideas and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and precise under deadlines. Must be both a big-picture strategist and have a "do-er" mentality.
  • Fluent in English.
