Job Description

DBA (Database Administrator) Job description: ● Manage and maintain the databases, perform troubleshooting and tuning when necessary. ● Configure, optimize, and support Oracle relational databases with a focus on reliability, availability, scalability, and maintainability. ● Work with a technical group on various projects requirements to ensure system compatibility for optimal system performance. ● Provide work with Oracle databases for Solaris/ HP-UX / Linux platforms and document database. ● Provide on-call support for databases. Note that this responsibility also entails after-hour on-call support. ● Maintain transactional databases and data warehouses. ● Perform SQL tuning. ● Configure and maintain physical standby database. ● Perform and maintain RMAN backups and restore/recover. ● Manage day-to-day tasks/activities in coordination with a team of engineers and developers to effectively meet the deliverables and schedule for the project. ● Participate in the design/planning of new databases and related technology. ● Implement ODI, OGG, jobs, and scripts to support the applications and interfaces between them. ● Manage Oracle Audits. ● Work closely with business and analytical staff to define new project requirements. ● Work with users to identify and develop system requirements taking into account security best practices, desired results, hardware limitations and operating requirements.
