Job Description

The Main Responsibilities Are:

Understanding Category:

  • Do a study and search on each category, project, requirements, and needed actions.
  • Follow, inspect, and evaluate new technologies and competitors in the market.

Packaging Specification Development/Management and Supply Chain Support:

  • Evaluate packaging material specifications and all required documents and data.
  • Responsible for creating all needed specs, technical drawings, and documents and providing them.
  • Create and maintain a bill of materials.
  • Ensure and agree with S/chain that specifications are reproducible and robust at the feasibility stage.
  • Manage issuing of specs to suppliers and customers.
  • Lead and coordinate feasibility trials.
  • Help resolve SC manufacturing issues, quality problems, and supplier-specific issues.
  • Report writing (e.g. feasibility trials, lab trials, saving projects, etc.)

Project Participation:

  • Innovation roll-out, new technology into the business; cost-effectiveness; activation/promotion.
  • Lead and participate in -SC/Chain project teams.

Supplier/Customer Interaction:

  • Consider and implement localization of all packaging parts.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to leverage opportunities (e.g. cost-effectiveness and improve specifications) in
  • alignment with the procurement team.
  • Follow and develop suppliers’ capabilities with the help of the regional category team.
  • Adopt specifications for specific suppliers.

Artwork and Mould Management:

  • Approve technical drawings for the AW process in alignment with the regional team.
  • Take responsibility and action for AW, Mould, toothbrush, and packaging parts. approvals.

Cost-Effectiveness:

  • Identify opportunities for reducing costs in packaging parts.
  • Discuss and support for identified cost savings.
  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives e.g. complexity reduction or alternative raw materials.

R&D Skills and Competency Development:

  • Develop and maintain personal technical skills.
  • Aid in the development of local team technical skills and operating companies.
  • Provide technology exposure to broader project teams (brand marketing, S/Chain) – to facilitate understanding and effective teamwork.

Management Process:

  • Take responsibility for the management of all projects (packaging parts).
  • Lead all relevant team members properly.
  • Prepare all results and reports completed and proper for sending to the R&D manager on time.
  • Establish a strong network within functions.
  • Lead R&D packaging section in local platforms.
  • Give technical inputs to gate documents.
  • Develop technical skills of packaging R&D specialists and technicians.
  • Project and portfolio management.
  • Provide technology exposure to broader project teams (brand marketing, supply chain) to facilitate understanding and effective teamwork.
  • Create and maintain successful communication channels, integration, and interaction with relevant parts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5 years of R&D experience in various categories, product/process experience.
  • English Level: Advanced.
