Job Description
The Sales Accountant is primarily responsible for managing sales accounting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, customer account reconciliation, and sales-related financial reporting within the organization. The role focuses on accurate recording and control of sales transactions, customer balances, receivables, revenue, sales adjustments, and related financial activities.
The position works closely with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, Treasury, and Finance to ensure accurate sales accounting, revenue recognition, receivables management, financial reconciliation, and reliable financial information for management decision-making.
• Sales & Revenue Accounting: Record and control sales transactions, invoices, credit/debit notes, returns, discounts, and other sales adjustments.
• Accounts Receivable: Monitor customer balances, outstanding receivables, payments, and overdue accounts; prepare and analyze AR Aging reports.
• Reconciliation & Control: Reconcile customer accounts, sales records, delivery documents, sub-ledgers, and General Ledger; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Closing & Reporting: Support month-end and year-end closing, including cut-off, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and required adjustments; prepare sales and receivables reports.
• Tax & Compliance: Ensure sales documentation and accounting transactions comply with applicable tax, accounting, and internal control requirements.
• ERP & Data Integrity: Ensure accurate and timely recording of sales and customer transactions in the ERP system and maintain financial data integrity.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, Warehouse, Treasury, and Finance to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, collections, and financial reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in Sales Accounting, Accounts Receivable, or Financial Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment.
• ERP & Excel: Strong ERP and advanced Excel skills; Rahkaran experience is an advantage.
• Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of revenue accounting, accounts receivable, reconciliation, closing, VAT, and financial reporting.
