Job Description

Job purpose The Logistics Manager organizes the ordering, purchasing, storage and distribution of goods, overseeing the entire process to its completion and ensuring that the right producst are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. Responsibilities and accountabilities • organizes, monitors and manages the process of ordering, warehousing and delivery of tobacco material and other production related material from HQ and local market to Sari factory plant • ensures production volumes and inventory is adequately maintained to meet sales demand, actively coordinating sales and production forecasting, as well as purchase and importation of materials • ensures the timely delivery of products, including freight and logistics management, product importation and warehousing • organizes, monitors and manages the process of ordering, warehousing and delivery of cigarettes from Sari production plant to the distributor • manages inventory levels in all warehouses and maximizes inventory efficiency, including warehousing audit to ensure optimal procedures are in place • manages local purchasing activities, related to production process as well as trade marketing and other business functions • responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining strategies for optimal inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material and reducing aging material • develops methods and procedures for scheduling of raw materials form suppliers (internal to TDR and external) to support manufacturing and optimize cost impacts • develops and maintains transportation system on domestic and international freight that ensures business needs are met • ensures that TDR is in compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation and resolves any legal issue pertaining to transportation/distribution • safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols • coordinates and controls the order cycle • liases and negotiates with suppliers of raw material and manufacturers ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the process • manages and controls all the company's external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of materials and finished parts for production • ensures parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production • identifies new suppliers, agrees terms and negotiates supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates • assesses supplier performance, reports on issues and recommends appropriate corrective action plans • develops business by gaining new contacts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions • monitors the effectiveness of the process and implements standard reporting focused on business drivers and able to measure results, follow trends and support TDR key operational strategies • builds relationships with Sari factory and HQ aimed at sharing best practices and optimizing supply chain network • understands well the whole supply chain in order to coordinate it effectively

Requirements

Essential requirements • Substantial (at least 3 years) experience in operations (supply chain) or finance in multinational environment • High sense of urgency, proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion • Tenacious and resilient, driven to achieve even when faced with obstacles • Interpersonal skills capable of building strong working relationships and influencing others • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment and diplomacy • Strong analytical skills • Proficiency in English
