Job Description
The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) supervisors are responsible for implementing health and safety policies in an organization. They are responsible for detecting dangerous conditions, reviewing safety procedures, disseminating safety information to various departments, training staff on safety topics, and running emergency exercises.
Responsibilities:
- Make regular site inspections, head office, and mobile DCs.
- Keep up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
- Write internal health and safety policies/strategies.
- Make recommendations following accidents/incidents.
- Provide health and safety training courses for employees and managers.
- Investigate/record incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health.
- Support site incident reporting process to ensure effective investigation, root cause analysis, reporting, corrective actions, trends, and best practice sharing throughout the business.
- Participate in the project planning and turnover process regarding new equipment, plant process improvements, and modifications to the plant from the HSE perspective.
- Develop and implement contractor safety program per company guidance.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with company safety policies.
- Oversee the site safety committee & assist in establishing site safety goals and objectives.
- Define, manage, and optimize the environment, health, and safety policy.
- Evaluate and prevent the occupational and environmental risks.
- Implement prevention programs for employees.
- Manage the department's budget.
