Job Description

The head of finance and operations leads and oversees the finance function and team for the assigned affiliate. Develops the vision, strategy, strategic goals, and other key performance metrics for affiliate operations (finance, procurement, supply chain, and logistics) and ensures the development and execution of accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, strategic planning (portfolio prioritization and resource allocation) and analysis in order to achieve affiliate business, financial and operational goals.

The head of finance and operations ensures that the affiliate finance, procurement, logistics, and supply chain team develops and maintains a complete understanding of all critical business issues across the affiliate. Oversees the correct adherence to procurement strategies and policies and international economic sanctions.

He/She designs and implements, in collaboration with the local teams, the most effective operating model for Roche Pars, ensuring excellent collaboration with external stakeholders (importers, distributors, local health authorities and payment agents) and local service providers.

In addition, your main challenges will be:

  • Ensure the affiliate finance and operations team develops and maintains a complete understanding of all critical business issues across the affiliate.
  • Drive innovation, execution, and process improvement across the affiliate finance team.
  • Drive development, implementation, and maintenance of processes and procedures that ensure adequate record-keeping and a sound internal control environment.
  • Oversee affiliate budgeting and forecasting processes and calendars and general accounting.
  • Ensure alignment between business and financial strategies and plans. Select, develop, and evaluate employees ensuring the efficient operation of the function.
  • Oversee and develop Finance Channel solutions that facilitate quota/currency allocation from IFDA/CBI
  • Responsible for the financial strategy and associated finance operations within a single entity/location.
  • Exceptional governance to maintain robust financial processes and controls to ensure the integrity and reliability of financial statements. Accountable for hosting and leading the team on TAX, SSO, and Statutory periodic audits.
  • Secure that all Roche Pars strictly operate in accordance with our export control policies and compliantly with the economic internal sanctions.
  • Provide all necessary financial insights to the organization to support adequate decision-making.
  • Ensure ICFR and Financial compliance in all transactions for accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure governance of policies related to commercial terms of engagement with our customers.
  • Oversee the correct adherence to procurement strategies and policies.
  • Lead the local Finance and Operations organization toward embracing and implementing agile principles.
  • As part of the Finance Network, actively engage, contribute, and drive above country and OneRoche initiatives.

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a relevant field; a Master's degree in Management, Finance, or relevant certifications (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.
  • Relevant finance experience of 10+ years in a global matrix organization, with proven abilities to inspire the team toward embracing change, challenging ways of working, and improving business processes.
  • Exceptional technical Finance experience as well as excellent commercial acumen (understanding of pharma market dynamics and distribution models).
  • Familiarity with Export Control policies and regulations (i.e. economic sanctions) is a plus.
  • Business-savvy professional, focused on helping internal and external stakeholders to navigate the polarities in a complex world, challenging the status quo to create transformative solutions to drive outcomes that benefit patients, society, and Roche.
  • System thinking and end-to-end view along the whole value chain to identify business opportunities and able to mobilize external and internal networks to make things happen for impact.
  • Leadership abilities; previous people management experience is a must, as well as experience in leading teams in a matrix/agile organization.
  • Fluency in English, and Persian is a plus.
