
Job Description
Job Purpose: To achieve sales targets by directing, coaching and controlling the activities of the distributor sales team to ensure maximum brand exposure and yield from promotional expenditure. ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Set up and manage the distributor network for consumer healthcare to reach an optimum level of distribution and sales in the local market chain. • Develop a full plan for direct coverage of retail outlets through the use of distributor sales team. • Manage the day to day activities of the distributor team, through the distributor staff. • Management of local channels using the distributor sales and merchandising team. • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting of demand and placing of orders by distributors ensuring adequate stock holding as per agreed norms. • Ensure maintenance of distribution levels as per agreed norms for existing brands and for achieving distribution levels within the agreed time frame for NPDs. • Implement the agreed trade marketing plan -- trade promotions, merchandising objectives as per planograms. • Implement the agreed trade promotion plan to ensure achievement of budgeted sales numbers within the agreed R&A budget. • Obtain the most cost-effective use of shelf space in local markets, in conjunction with Distributor personnel, and create an understanding in the account of the impact on the sales potential of the store.
Requirements
Knowledge skills and experienc: The job holder is expected to have: • At least 3 years sales experience in pharmaceutical sector as a manager • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical market • Selling skills-negotiation skills, assertiveness • Interpersonal skills-influencing skills • Computer literacy -- Competency in Excel & PowerPoint • Budgeting skills-forecasting, demand planning • Fluent in English communication • Presentation skills
