Job Description

Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Iran is actively seeking a candidate for the position of freelance/outsource translator.

* Working hours are flexible since the nature of the job is freelancing.

Tasks, which the candidate is required to tackle on a daily basis, include:

  • Translate patent body including specifications, claims and abstract from English to Persian.
  • Translate trademark renewal and registration certificates from Persian to English and vice-versa.
  • Translate notices relating to intellectual property (IP) published in the Official Gazette from Persian to English.
  • Translate any IP-related text in both English to Persian pairs.

Requirements

  • Language skills: Persian, Native; English, Near-Native (written and spoken).

Personal Skills:

  • Close attention to detail.
  • High levels of organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in a clear and effective manner (written and verbal) in both English and Persian.
  • Attention to detail, strong time management skills, ability to self-organize and self-monitor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment to achieve departmental and personal goals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules, and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Word.
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Pro-active attitude and work commitment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive personal and professional image, and high standards of professional behavior and ethics.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of English and Persian including the meaning of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems.

Professional Skills:

  • Expert computer, typing, and research skills;
  • Adequately skilled at English to Persian-translation (and vice-versa);
  • Have an extremely sharp eye for writing errors, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Education:

  • Master's degree in English (Teaching, Literature, Translation, etc.).

Professional Experience:

  • At least three years of proven experience in translation.
  • Experience in the area of intellectual property is not mandatory but is a plus.
