Job Description

This role will be providing direct support to our client and will require the following qualifications and skills: Interface with customers to develop User Requirements documentation Develop control specification (control narratives) documentation based on User Requirements Design, maintain and support instrumentation and control systems Develop diagrams, drawings and documentation for systems developed Mark-up Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for instrumentation and controls related changes and review drawings from the drafting team Design electrical controls drawings, panel drawings, loop sheets, I/O drawings, and network drawings and review drawings from the drafting team Prepare As-built drawings Prepare User Manuals and Technical Procedures Programming and development of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or oversee the program development done by others Design & Development of Human/Machine Interface (HMI) packages to work with the PLC/DCS Develop testing plans for DCS and PLC programs to effectively test all aspects of a new program or program changes Simulate the DCS/PLC program and test the system using the testing plan Oversee electrical controls construction at the client’s site and verify that the system is being installed as designed. Provide technical support to the construction effort Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel Travel to the client’s site as required Working hours: Saturday to Wednesday from 9 AM to 5 PM & Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in related field Knowledge of Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal The ability to troubleshoot control loops and motor wiring The ability to work with limited supervision Experience working with Analog Data acquisition and signal conditioning techniques Experience in industrial automated environment Experience executing projects, planning, and scoping projects PLC Controls experience (will be involved in PLC upgrade projects) & Siemens S5 / S7 Excellent problem solving ability - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it Strong and effective communicator Must have experience in process design, power distribution, DCS and variable speed drives. Knowledge of Steel, Iron & Foundry industries is a plus
