Job Description

Introduction: The SSHE Country Assistant Manager has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site/country level. S/he works with site/country Supply Chain teams to develop the local SSHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SSHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. In addition, S/He drives forward and develops security strategies and standards in line with the group security vision. Responsibilities: - Deploy the global/cluster SSHE strategy, policy and standards in the site/country to achieve excellent sustainable results - Manage the SSHE teams responsible to deliver Occupational Health, Safety, security and Environment results - Drive safety and environment risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controls - Reduce the site’s/country ‘s environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx & CO2 emissions and water & energy consumption - Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever BBS Program and support deployment in the site/country - Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management - Monitor site/country legal compliance and ensure the site/country meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SSHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies - Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill health - Assist the site/country leader to develop and lead the internal crisis committees and safety committee; support the SC leader in leading serious incident investigation and analysis - Advise line management in all accident/incident investigations - Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, safe behavior observations and deep compliance audits - Develop and deploy internal SSHE auditing and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as required - Determine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs - This is a global role working in a central team reporting into the CSO, driving forward and developing security strategies and standards in line with the group security vision. - Have a good knowledge of the security function and will filter information / instructions through a network of country based security leads and continue to develop the internal / external security network through collaboration and training. Ensuring that the security travel policy is understood and followed. - Align strategies to the business risk which must remain dynamic in order to meet emerging and future challenges, ensuring that the Unilever security measures are adequate to protect the business in line with the global security guidelines ensuring safeguarding of people, product and property

Requirements

- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (having experience in Manufacturing and industrial companies) - Minimum bachelor degree in Safety Engineering or Occupational Health - Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management - Fluency in English (written and spoken) - Local Candidate is Preferred.
