Job Description

Our practice of engineering high-end glass and steel solutions is booming and as a result, we are looking for qualified professionals to join the team. We need a very talented civil/structure engineer preferably (but not necessarily) with experience in investigation, design and repair of glazed assemblies. The purpose of this position is to support existing business and assist with growth and diversification of our current business. This position offers great career growth, and the promise of working on very exciting projects! Main Responsibilities: Â· the preparation of full structural design packages for building exterior envelope and interior glass and steel systems. Â· to engage national and local regulatory bodies and authorities to establish clear construction codes and guidelines. Â· to engage sales team and customers to improve awareness of the requirements of a well-engineered glass and steel system. Â· In addition to standard design manuals, extensive use of building codes and building design specifications will be required.

Requirements

Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications: Knowledge of finite element analysis for structural design Be able to read and understand architectural and structural drawings and technical specifications; Be able to work with clients and other consulting staff to develop new architectural details and/or remedial details and specifications for exterior building enclosure systems; Be able to communicate and work both independently and within a team environment; Have excellent communication and writing skills; Experience with AutoCAD design Experience with structural design analytic software SAP, ETABS and ANSYS Preferred but not required: Knowledge of aluminum-and-glass curtain wall systems; window systems; or unitized/panelized Facade systems featuring barrier wall, rain screen or pressure equalized performance capabilities; and have understanding in the use and application of sealants, Flashings, thermal insulation, and air/water/vapor barrier materials within the systems listed above;
