Job Description
The senior cost accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of: - Process constraints - Target costing Business fields - Margin analysis - Tracing costs back to underlying activities - COGS calculation and analysis The cost accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. Principal Accountability: - Data Collection - Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system - Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems - Analysis - Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses - Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories - Report on margins by product and division - Report on periodic variances and their causes - Focusing in particular on spending variances - Analyze capital budgeting requests - Perform cost accumulation tasks
Requirements
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - At least 5 years of experience - Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS EXCEL & MS ACCESS - Strong communication, interpersonal, team working skills - Ideal Age Range: 27 - 40 - Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role, - Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, - In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, - Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail, - Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information,
