Job Description

Main purpose of the job Planning, coordinating and monitoring all pharmacy related activities in MSF Iran mission according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the activities. Responsibilities and tasks Supporting the Head of Mission and Medical Coordinator in representing and defending MSF’s interests before the Ministry of Health and other local authorities or local suppliers for any issue concerning pharmaceutical supply. Supervising the running of the pharmacy related activities across the mission, ensuring the proper implementation of MSF Safety standards, including pharmacovigilance follow up and waste management protocols and complying with Iranian rules and regulations. This implies regular technical visit on the different project. (Tehran, Mashhad…) Supporting and participating in all drugs and medical material supply processes and ensuring its overall efficiency and effectiveness. Monitoring the procurement process and taking corrective measures when needed, ensuring regular communication with Medical, Logistics, Human Resources and Finance departments regarding Medical Supply and Management. Being responsible for the good maintenance of all drugs and equipment in the pharmacy related activities and the appropriate storage and management of supply of narcotic and psychotropic medication with respect to national legislation, permitting traceability for these specific products. Facilitating correct stock management and transport/storage procedures, in order to ensure the availability of stock in all projects and to avoid expiry/overstocks and stock-outs. Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the Human Resources department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required. Participating in reporting according to MSF guidelines (Situation Report, medical statistical reports, etc.) and reporting on drug consumption and medical devices dispensed according to protocols, informing on unusual patterns. Supporting coordination team regarding budget preparation in link with drugs and medicals consumables forecast consumption. Requirements

Specific requirements for the role: Essential: pharmacy degree Essential demonstrated two years’ experience in (hospital) pharmacy management, previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s is desirable Knowledge of MSF principles and procedures is an asset Ability to work inside a team, good activity planning Good IT skills (office, Isystock, portal…) Personal attributes required: Good communication skills English and Persian language required Desire to learn and investigate new subjects Good reporting skills, written and oral Flexible and rigorous
