Job Description

As an active Bakery/Pastry complex, we are looking to hire an experienced Pastry Manager to supervise our baking staff and manage all pastry operations. The pastry Manager's responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, conducting interviews, hiring suitable pastry staff, and ensuring that orders for specialty cakes are completed on time. You should also be able to discard stale or spoiled pastry items and mark down goods nearing their expiration dates. To be successful as a pastry Manager, you should demonstrate excellent management and problem-solving skills. Ultimately, an outstanding pastry Manager should be able to achieve exceptional customer and enforce staff compliance with food health and safety regulations. Pastry Manager Responsibilities: 1-Pastry/Bakery arts: - Ensuring that fresh ingredients and supplies are available when daily production starts in the early morning hours - Special consideration on Unique/different designs and delectable treats, such as pies, cakes, cookies, rolls and assorted breads for taking away or serving at café - Ensuring that the bakery is adequately stocked with quality baking ingredients and supplies. - Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences (for example vegan coffee drinks) 2-Training and Supervision: - Training and supervising staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures. - On-the-job training with familiarizing new hires with workplace policies, safety procedures, personal hygiene expectations, cleaning requirements, proper dress, and customer relations. 3-Safety and Sanitation: - Ensuring that baking tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized precautions have to be taken at all levels to prevent foodborne illness. - Workplace safety and food safety standards must be a top priority. - Ultimately responsible for a customer complaint is received or the health inspector finds violations. Although everyone shares in the responsibility of cleanliness and pest control 4-Business Management: - Creating suitable work schedules for staff members. - Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance. - Strategically arranging bakery items in display cases to encourage customer purchases. - Inspecting pastry items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met. - Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner. - Knowledge of economics and accounting is necessary to formulate a viable business plan, secure financing, and project earnings. - Other typical responsibilities include menu pricing, calculation of production costs, reducing waste, increasing the profit margin, and recipe costing, for instance. Record keeping must also be accurate. 5-Customer Relations: - Developing and implementing advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers through word-of-mouth, social networking, and media campaigns - Staff should be praised for their friendly and prompt service.

Requirements

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team - 5+ years' experience as a manager, preferably in a banquet environment - Confident culinary techniques and skills - Good sense of planning and preparation for the day ahead - Strong organizational and time management skills - Punctual and discipline to ensure the optimal work performance
