Job Description
This engineer will specialize in the design and detail work of hydroelectric power equipment such as water control gates (tainter, head, and roller gates, etc.), stop-logs, mechanical and hydraulic hoists, and trash-rack cleaner machines.
Duties include the following:
● Design and calculations for different types of gates (roller, slide, radial, flap, etc.), stop-logs, and hoist equipment for hydroelectric, navigation, flood control, and agricultural industries, from concept ideas to detailed design.
● Select, specify, and request quotes for major items such as hydraulic cylinders and power units, motors, gearboxes, etc., and for purchasing (if necessary).
● Meet or exceed the company’s design schedules and commitments in meeting the manufacturing schedule objectives as set by Linita or by Linita’s customers.
● Communicate with our fabrication shop or subcontractors to answer their questions, provide clarifications, and apply modifications to the design drawings if required to ensure the most efficient and economical product.
● Write procedures for installation and/or fieldwork procedures as required for completing each project – visit the project site when required.
