About the role:
The logistics manager will have experience in transportation, cargo handling, receiving and shipping, marine operations, warehousing, port operations, material management, yard operations, and multi-site operations.
Responsibilities:
● Identify shipping agent and logistics support and cooperate as necessary for personnel clearance, material export-import, barge, and ship export, apply and comply with local laws and government permits.
● Establish a temporary logistics base near the naval operations area.
● Communicate with onshore and offshore teams for crew mobilization
● Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, and project and site personnel to ensure crew/supply boat rotation is achieved in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
● Coach, guide, and motivate a team of coordinators to ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies.
● Meet with shipping agents and ensure the coordination team is always abreast of changing local laws.
● Improve coordination practices to minimize disruption of air and port services.
● Coordinate with project teams and operations/installation manager to ensure timely scheduling of vessels, personnel, and material handling.
● Create SOPs and improve existing ones, with close follow-up of implementation in order to reinforce systematic control.
● Manage and supervise the movement of cargo inside and outside the country according to the organization's policy and procedure, and comply with relevant local and international laws.
● Ensure and review invoices and invoices of shipping agents in line with the agreement and with appropriate supporting documents.
