• Research on product users and their different ways of using it • Brainstorm or create a map • Using computer software to create virtual models of different designs • Investigate material and manufacturing costs to determine manufacturing requirements • Work with other professionals to evaluate whether their plans are within reasonable costs to meet customer needs. • Drawing a variety of charts and maps and determining and converting scales and performing related calculations • Drawing electrical drawings to carry out the technical work required in subsidiary units • Assess the safety, appearance and performance of the product to determine the feasibility of the design • Provide designs and samples to customers for approval
