Job Description
•Main Objective:
Manage the purchasing, price negotiations, projections, inventory and logistics for garment procured. Ensure the source has adequate quality materials available in the required time frame at the right price to keep the manufacturing process on schedule.
•Main Responsibilities
-Works with designers, product development, production, supply chain, and buying to ensure that all new raw materials for new launches are ordered and delivered on time to insure no delays in launch timetable
-Maintain fabric position that is ordered and received across all brands globally
-Keep fabric book updated at all times
-Confirm the terms of all contracts, licenses, insurance and liability agreements for each source used
-Lead the process of identifying, selecting and developing new suppliers
-Improve supplier performance year-over-year
-Issue fabric purchase orders
-Identify risks and maximize opportunities involved in each sourcing process to mitigate risks
-Work with Product Development and Production to supply fabric lead times per season based on fabrics used in the collection. Build fabric buy calendar per season
-Meet with multiple buying channels to collect fabric projections and communicate to factories
-Update fabric master chart and submit to all buying channels
-Support factories during production process to help with any potential fabric issues
-Maintain accurate financial ownership of fabric inventory and commitments
-Maintain detailed fabric records by business unit of fabric usage, projections and action plan
-Coordinate incoming raw materials orders with all applicable departments, such as: Design, Product Development, Production, Quality Control, Sales and Warehouse and ensures that receiving is accurate and on time
-Ensures accurate raw material inventory and costing by directly working with Receiving and Accounting department and supply chain leadership
-Enhance and develop reporting to support business decision making
