Job Description
•Main Objective: The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and providing operational database services throughout the organizations large distributed systems such as: -Performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems -Ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications -Be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server implementation hosted and ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance) -Executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams •Main Responsibilities: -Develop, maintain documentation, standards, and best practices -Install, maintain, and support MS SQL Server databases -Develop and maintain stored procedures using Transact-SQL (T-SQL) -Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) tools -Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database software -System optimization and capacity planning -Develop and test security and disaster recovery -Data integration with software and hardware -Involved with reporting and dashboards -Utilize knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems -Focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs -Initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes -Establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests
Requirements
-Bachelor's degree and/or relevant certifications preferred; and/or equivalent experience. MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus -Over 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (primarily as a full-time) / besides traditional DBA experience, also having DevOps experience will be important to your success -Strong experience with T-SQL replication and SSIS packages -Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems -Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools -Experience in backups, restores and recovery models -Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server -Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts -Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics -Experience in deploying and maintaining reporting services and integration services applications -Experience in working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations -Excellent written and verbal communication -Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality -Service oriented approach -High sense of ownership of the problems -Ability to organize and plan work independently -Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment -Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams -Expert of database monitoring tools -Familiar with SSAS, SSRS, SSIS -Be expert about the related concepts such as: Database Tuning, Partitioning, and Performance Optimizations -Familiar with Open Source database -A full-time peer and able to be on call -Familiar with database design and database normalization -Experienced about clustering -The candidate selected must be capable of working independently and collaboratively -Ideal Age Range: 24 - 40 * To candidates with a Project-based consulting background, or those who don't have much job experience, we will not be able to move forward for this position
