Creative directors play an essential role in marketing, creative and communications. They are responsible for leading their team, developing creative guidelines and directing creative work, including print materials, websites, email campaigns, television and radio advertising, and many related tasks. These professionals report directly to the CMO and they rely on extensive experience and professional judgment to plan and execute projects.
We’re looking for an experienced manager of people, someone that can inspire others, taking our creativity to a new level as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have a natural eye for design and a drive to inspire dynamic ideas that connect with all types of audiences.
-building an environment for the creative team to work in and overseeing their ideas and projects
-taking responsibility for the creative philosophy and the standard of output across the company
-developing ideas for advertising or promotional campaigns
-overseeing several projects from start to finish, keeping to deadlines, and signing off on these projects before they are presented
-managing the creative/art team
-Supervise a cross-functional team of graphic designers, copywriters, social media experts, and photographers/videographers, and project manages in the strategic development of messages and deliverables
-Prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing production schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production departments
-Conduct brainstorming sessions with the creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
-Review and approve art and copy developed by the team, ensuring deliverables that effectively address marketing goals and challenges
-Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for visually sophisticated audiences
- Determines production requirements by reviewing client requirements; considering scheduling factor
-Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; recommending changes to art, copy writing and production departments
-Develops marketing strategies by examining client objectives; planning, scheduling, and completing design and production requirements for direct marketing, telemarketing, and advertising
-7 years of related experience with 5+ years of creative/art direction in an agency or corporate setting
-Years of experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing the vision and the messaging platform to overseeing production on time and budget
- Highly skilled with leading a team of creative talent
-Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives
-Prior experience with copy writing, design, or production
-Prior project management experience, with a focus on creative direction
-Analytical Skills: Advertising and marketing are ever-evolving, and good creative directors are able to analyze trends, look at new data and keep with the times.
-Decision-Making Skills: Advertising campaigns have timelines, and creative directors will need to make decisions on final copy, final art, finished commercials, and radio spots.
-Management Skills: Creative directors often have to keep many creative on schedule, and manage their own time.
-An awareness of current trends in advertising and design
-Knowledge of the software and applications involved in the creative process
