Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join an international private equity owned group with early stage business units in hospitality, specifically Fast Food, with a focus on Franchising and advanced technology in Iran. As a high performing COO you will support and deliver the group’s strategic objectives, be responsible for each line of business/all business unit’s end to end operational performance, systems of accounting and controls, reporting and planning, as well as contributing meaningfully to the profitability and operational success of the businesses. In a short period of time, this business needs to be scaled to 50 operational units, with top performance, to show as a role model operation in the market. You will need to possess the financial acumen and business smarts to contribute meaningfully to show you can meet the challenges and the growth opportunities for businesses in Iran and be able to operate in a very entrepreneurial organisation. •Provide operational leadership and direction to all business units in Iran. •Work as a key member of the executive team contributing to wider corporate strategy, policy and decision making. •Oversee the operations of the organization to meet business goals and projections. •Collaborate closely with the Chairman and Group CFO and develop and deliver KPI and other reports on company operations. •Empower the operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operations initiatives. •Positively represent the company at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor. •Partner with other C-level executives to accomplish short and long-term operational goals. •Ensure appropriate systems, processes and performance management arrangements are in place to deliver consistent high quality level of products and services and actively report and monitor results. •Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators. •Ensure sustainable delivery of operational services to agreed performance, quality, safety, financial and activity targets and commitments. •Responsible for all internal controls and end to end integrity of accounting, reporting and planning across all business units in Iran. •Build strong internal controls, to support performance and protect the assets and ensure the integrity of the financials. •Responsibility for delivery of monthly reporting, management accounts, reporting versus budget and forecast, and signing off on the adequacy of internal controls. •Train, develop and lead a high performing team, with an emphasis on pace, efficiency and continuous improvement to deliver to demanding timelines. •Plan and implement efficient reporting systems and processes ensuring timely reporting for Group Consolidations. •Prepare and present annual budgets, forecasts for each business unit and report on performance vs budgets and forecast. •Prepare business cases to assist Senior Management with the assessment of opportunities identified by the business. •Assist with pricing strategy and commercial optimization on the product portfolio to maximize business unit profitability. •Review commercial contracts to ensure in line with commercial and financial policies. •Business partner to operations, driving performance through high quality analysis, insight and practical recommendations. •Prepare financial requests relating to commitments, credit, purchases, inventory, banking and other related matters to ensure compliance with company financial guidelines. •Manage the banking relationship overseeing the cash flow planning to ensure sufficient working capital and availability of funds to meet commitments.

Requirements

•8 years+ senior leadership experience in a fast paced diversified commercial environment. •5 year+ senior leadership experience in Fast Food chain business, including dealings with Franchisees, setting up successful and profitable supply chains, and managing multiple stakeholders, while upholding and guaranteeing max level of quality •Having innovative and profitable ideas to enhance product offering, while enhancing average spend per cover, and maintaining a constant buzz •Ability to communicate vision to board of directors, other C-level officers and company employees. •Strong track record of practical operational experience establishing systems of controls, systems and reporting mechanisms. •Track record of leading multi-location and business types operations in a diversified international business environment, with experience of reporting to international group. •Familiarity with Iranian tax and company law and commercial “on the ground” practices. •Ability to maintain a strong relation with all owners of all business units •Knowing the in’s and outs of local labor laws and best practices, with the ability to set up a succession plan, build a winning team, and set up a reward system directly connected to performance •Familiarity with the operational procedures at all levels of the organization. •Strong analytical and data-driven mind-set that translates into leadership skills •Ability to be a strong team player, and cooperate within a strong team of individuals •Strong assertive leadership skills, team building and communication skills. •International qualification and / or experience is preferable or commensurate experience. •Fluent English and Farsi Speaker.
