Job Description

A well-known company in the logistics and transportation industry is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing the Finance and Accounting functions of the Company. The CFO will act as a key thought partner in how the Company plans for the future, increase accessibility of timely financial insights across the leadership team, and ensure the systems and processes are set up for scalable growth. The right person for this role will be a leader and mentor across the organization for the entire team and an important driver in bringing people together. Job Description: Oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization. Support client long term capital structure and capital raise process, including modeling cash needs, supporting capital strategy and running the due diligence process. Manage relationship with investment bankers and investors. Partner with the CEO and Finance Committee of the Board to deploy investment capital in the most effective manner to achieve the organization's long-term strategic initiatives. Clear a path for growth, form new relationships, drive measurable value and establish core financial processes and reporting requirements. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; understanding variances; and initiating corrective actions as necessary. Provide guidance to the contracting legal team that balances the best interests of the company with the needs of the business and clients. Ensure reporting compliance, including GAAP, tax and regulatory requirements. Maintain and continually improve upon financial/operational systems, controls and processes, for internal efficiencies and risk mitigation. Utilize budgets, forecasts, metrics and KPI reporting for business tracking and improvement. Manage banking and institutional investor relationships and optimize cash management in multiple currencies. Review key contracts to ensure alignment with financial reporting requirements. Assist in the design, implementation, and timely calculations of incentive and commission plans.

Requirements

10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience and at least 5 years of experience at the senior leadership level in multinational companies. Bachelor/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and MBA is preferred. Experience creating, scaling and maintaining the finance department at a company that has experienced tremendous growth. Proven track record of growing business as CFO, Corporate Controller and/or VP of Finance. Low-ego, high-energy leader and always seek to make those around you more successful. Data-driven and goal oriented; success measured both quantitatively and qualitatively. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage both internal and external stakeholders and service providers including senior management and outside auditors. High level of integrity and act as a financial steward. Excellent communication skills. Experience with accounting and general office software systems
