Supervise the quality control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including quality control inspection schedules and the collection of quality records.
Assess the implementation of the quality plan and quality control plans on site.
Allocate quality control personnel to the various areas of site activities.
Supervise inspections, reports, and documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file the required quality records.
Lead the day-to-day operations of the quality department, which includes the management of quality engineers, the micro lab, analytical lab, and process lab technicians, the material non-conformity process, and application of the requirements for certifications like ISO9001, FSSC 22000, Organic, Halal, Kosher, etc. on site.
Evaluate the qualifications of inspection personnel.
Serve as the lead for the validation of all changes in the manufacturing process.
Help develop, implement, and follow up on special projects and programs. (i.e. HAACP, Hygiene, GMP, GLP, operational excellence, etc.).
Ensure superior performance GMPs, CIPs, training, etc.
Support and participate in all internal/external audits;
Coordinate the relevant traceability systems for the correct identification of materials.
Develop and implement traceability for “organic”, and “sustainable” products.
Supervise the correct calibration management activities of testing equipment.
Cooperate with the quality management department for evaluation of non-conformities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
At least three years of experience in QA/QC.
Experience in developing and reviewing quality plans for production, contract documents, and pro specifications.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, coupled with organizational sensitivity, and the ability to influence key decision-makers at all levels.
Must act as a change agent who is able to build positive relationships on a foundation of trust and mutual respect.
Technical expertise in finding the root cause of quality issues and implementing the best solution possible.
Formal root cause analysis training is preferred and must be demonstrated.
