Job Description

The design team ensures Digikala’s core products serve our customers’ needs, fulfilling these needs in easy-to-use, enjoyable, and innovative ways. Design competence is dedicated to enhancing and redefining the smoothest shopping experience – constantly raising the bar on delightful and intuitive product experiences. We do this through rigorous user research, championing the craft and execution of our products, developing design systems and tooling, and curating Digikala’s voice. As head of design, you will lead the organization responsible for the vision and coherency of our entire product ecosystem. This is a founding role that will require setting the vision and roadmap for how the Digikala design team ensures a high level of product quality across all products at the company. This will include leading our four different design squads (Shopping, Digikala ventures, commercial and design operations) and more broadly designing the teams you need, hiring, and executing on a long-term vision. Responsibilities: ● Develop and implement design strategy for Digikala design team. ● Manage and develop a growing team of passionate product designers, UX researchers, and UX writers. ● Scale a team of multidisciplinary designers, writers, and researchers to match pace with a quickly growing business. ● Work across peers in the product and engineering Leadership team, contribute to the identification, planning, and resourcing of key opportunities to explore new creative frontiers. ● Lead the experience design team to hypothesize and ideate new innovative experiences within and across Digikala core products (Digikala, DigikalaJet, Pindo, Seller Panel, and more) that unlock possibilities for people, partners, and brands. ● Coach others based on expertise in research, writing, ideation, design, and tech to prototype new experiences that will drive value for people, partners, and/or businesses ● Collaborate at a high level across internal and external teams to ideate, prototype, and deploy new experiences - building strong partnerships and shipping projects with excellent craft, and quality. ● Lead vision and development of presentations/proposals needed to bring experiences to life, and drive pitching/alignment with stakeholders. ● Maintain a strong creative vision and constructive partnership with other department leaders (Marketing, commercial, and more).

Requirements

● More than ten years of experience design and/or creative direction experience. ● Experience as a head of design or similar role in a scaled organization. ● Portfolio of projects that demonstrate your skills as a creative director and experience designer. ● Mastery of Adobe Suite and interface design tools (Sketch, Figma, etc.). ● Skill in presentation software (Powerpoint, Google Slides or Keynote). ● Experience operating in cross-functional organizations. ● Expertise in current state of experience design, technology and product possibilities. ● Proven ability to inspire design leaders and their teams. ● Fast learner who hits the ground running, balancing multiple projects at once. ● Track record of delivering consistent performance and growth in your people. ● Drive for continuous development and often jump-start projects without clear direction, as well as an experience to multi-task and move fast. ● Expert collaborator and thrive off of working with other creatives, partners and disciplines. ● People First: Believe that a team is fueled by a positive culture of respect. Preferred qualifications: ● Motion Design (After Effects, etc.) and 3D (Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.) knowledge. ● Knowledge of agile methodologies and frameworks. ● Passing knowledge of coding languages.
