The Role


The Role


Objective:
The position is accountable for assisting the business in the implementation of the Hazards and Effects Management Process throughout the organisation to effectively identify, assess and control HSE hazards (particularly major hazards), and document the controls applied to control them.
Technical Authority Level 1 for safety in design for the project.

Main responsibilities:

Assisting the project in the implementation of the Hazards and Effects Management Process throughout the organisation to effectively identify, assess and control HSE hazards (particularly major hazards), and document the controls applied to control them.

Developing and communicating the Risk tolerability and Control Acceptance criteria for the project and review HEMP analysis against these criteria
Developing, communicating and supporting the implementation of the Project’s HSE Case Standard.

Act as custodian of the Projects HSE Risk registers.

Provide interpretation of, and support to, the project in implementing the Hazards and Effects Management Process, HSE Case Standard.

As technical authority, responsible for sign off of all changes to and deviations from these standards.

Providing specialist advice on Safety engineering, HSE Standards, Hazard and Effect assessment.

Leading or participate in HEMP studies such as HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, Plant Layout etc.

Reviewing technical standards to ensure these are appropriate and fit for purpose in HSE risk management content.

Development and roll out a training plan to raise technical safety knowledge among relevant SIPC staff.

Providing input into the key performance indicators for monitoring and reporting HSE performance to demonstrate compliance with Project HSE standards and relevant legislation.

Probation: 3 months

Working hours: variable

Travel requirements: Frequent to site in Ahwaz

University qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering field or safety management areas.

Other certifications:
Diploma in Safety Management (NEBOSH, COSH, China registered safety engineer or other Internationally recognized HSEQ qualifications).
Certificate as HAZOP Leader
Accredited in Technical Safety Auditing.
H2S & Breathing Apparatus Certificate.
First-Aid & CPR Certificate.

Previous experience:
Minimum of 15 years in HSE in the Oil & Gas Sector with at least 5 years in Safety Engineering.
Similar position with other major international oil & gas operator.

The position shall have knowledge of:
• Legislative and regulatory acts and methodological materials relating to technical safety;
• Plant processes and safety systems of facilities included in the Yadavaran project.
• Methods of studying the working conditions at workplaces; organisation of labour safety work;
• Details of operating the equipment used in the Company; rules and means of controlling compliance of the equipment technical condition with the safety requirements;
• Iran labour safety laws
Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
