 Eni operates in the oil and gas, electricity generation and sale, petrochemicals, oilfield services construction and engineering industries. In these businesses it has a strong edge and leading international market position. Eni has been present in Iran since 1957. In 2007 production net to Eni averaged 26 kboe/d. Eni's activities are concentrated in the offshore of the Persian Gulf and onshore for a total acreage of 1,456 square kilometers.
