The RoleThe RoleMission: Responsible for the establishment and operation of the appropriate access transmission infrastructure, in line with the defined transmission topology plan and capabilities of technology. Deliver the required access capacity in time and at the required level of service, coordinating the various regional developments. • Monitor and guide the planning and implementation programs of turnkey providers for the access transmission network • Manage process of building additional access capacity for transmission using appropriate technologies (copper, fibre, microwave) or leased facilities. • Development of policies for the deployment of selected equipment. • Develop detailed access configuration designs (route sizes, upgrades, etc.) Task Complexity: • Interface with providers of leased capacity. • Delivery of physical connectivity according to topology and access plan • Successful operational integration of access transmission networks build by turnkey vendors. • Ensure adherence to appropriate build specification for all microwave and fibre deployments in the access network • Implementation of appropriate operational procedure for all microwave and fibre deployments • Ensure highly available access transmission routes Role Complexity Monitors performance of Network and multiple turnkey vendors |
RequirementsRequirementsEducation: BSc Degree in Telecommunication or equivalent Experience: 3 years working in an access transmission planning and implementation environment Thorough grounding in the requirement of a GSM network in terms of all transmission requirements Experience in a rapid roll-out environment and management of turn-key vendors • PDH, SDH, IP/MPLS knowledge • Microwave planning and implementation Budgeting |
